I've had 3, count them...3, requests for an update so here goes. I would love to say I've been so incredibly busy that I haven't had the time to be productive but we both know that's not true.
The ideas keep coming, the work sadly does not. Why start now though? May as well wait until December and then I can make it my New Years Resolution....again.
I did get drunk one night and send a proposal to Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Amazingly they replied and even more suprisingly they genuinely considered it and gave seemingly valid reasons for not pursuing. Still a rejection is a rejection no matter how much I dress it up.
Anyway here is something I did what seems like months ago and probably was.

Update......if only
Sick of looking at the Christmas message but sadly have nothing new to post. Same old, same old unfortunately. Pleased now that Spring is coming as it means brighter evenings and brighter outlook. Still playing around with a few ideas (old and new) but as always lacking time and more importantly space to bring them to life. All offers gratefully received....

Merry Christmas 2010
This year's Christmas card. Pen on canvas. Limited to 13 although if someone desperately wanted one I suppose I could make another! Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas especially my 'followers', all 3 of them. Have a good one. Hopefully 2011 will be the year when I make an effort to get on with some art and yes, I do say that every December. All the best, Ben.

A stroll in the dark
Well I made it out this week as planned. Unfortunately things didn't go exactly as I'd hoped after that. I set out with all my gear (plastics, metals, glass, etc) and although the walk was enjoyable I wasn't able to produce anything other than more half-baked ideas. A combination of not finding the right spot, not being struck by the inspiration and it being bleeding cold left me slightly frustrated. However as my camera battery ran out after a couple of shots it was probably a blessing. Nevertheless had a great walk up the coast from Morecambe to Millhead then cut back to Carnforth and down the canal. By this point it was pitch black and I was frightening myself as much as other canal users so headed home.
Took this picture around Bolton-Le-Sands. I like monolithic structures that served a purpose once upon a time but despite having no present day use continue to survive. Gave me an idea for something so I'll leave it up here for now to revisit later, if only to prove I did actually get outdoors.

Autumn Cheer (at last)
Finally managed to get out yesterday and take some pictures. Here's a sneak preview of some ideas floating round at the moment. With any luck I'll do something on a grander scale in the next few weeks.
